Galleri Christoffer Egelund proudly presents the exhibition "Cosmographicum" featuring new works on paper and ceramic sculptures by Jacob Dahlstrup (b. 1985).The works come to life in a unique intersection between the fascination of outer space, "cosmos" and the concept of drawing or mapping "graphicum". In motifs as well as scale the works represents a wide range of expressions, from small intensely detailed studies of the surface of the moon to grand dramatic celestial explosions. The interest in cosmos has also been featured in Dahlstrups earlier works where e.g. Galileo Galilei and Johannes Kepler has been the center of attention. With this exhibition the artist aimes his spotlight at the space adventures of modern times with imaginative narrative references to the well know images of e.g. the moon landing and the entire Apollo space program.
The participating artists are Mathias Kristersson (S), Ursula Nistrup (DK), Fie Norsker (DK), Troels Sandegård (DK), Marie Edinger Plum (DK) and Javier Tapia (Chile). The main theme of the exhibition is “echo”, a concept that has raised the following thoughts and associations by the participating artists: repetition, backscattered sound, repetition with the reduction of content, a source, a form of multiple unstable modes, stopping of time, reflection of sound waves, shifts in time, retention of an event, a metaphor for a complex condition, a meta-dimension, a déjà vu of sound, the Greek nymph Echo ... etc.At the exhibition the artists not only shows very different perspectives on echo as a word and concept, but also their distinctive works in a variety of media.

The title "Union of Strangers" refers specifically to the field of tension between alienation and identity that Joergensen is concerned with both in his "Grogram"- and his "Parliaments" projects. His photographic works get great attention for it's original expression, and his unconventional way of using the medium. The Grogram project combines digital photography with meticulous craftsmanship. Joergensen creates a Grogram image by manually cutting two of his crowd photographs into thin strips and then weaving them together to form a new image. Because of the process, the people in the crowds loose their individuality and are turned into types strangely isolated from each other. It takes up to three weeks to create a Grogram work, and the result is best described as a novel form of collage.
