We are proud to anounce the Artist of The Week is Morten Steen Hebsgaard, selected by Kunsten.nu in October 2013.
Morten Steen Hebsgaard transforms everyday use and ornamental objects to both humorous, critical and poetic works. Hebsgaard Installation Forms of Knowledge can currently be seen in SALEN at GL STRAND.
Morten Steen Hebsgaard works blurs the traditional boundaries between art and use objects.
With simple tools demonstrates Hebsgaard its ability to transform functional objects from everyday life, so their usefulness is repealed and instead turned into absurd statements with the possibility of new significations.
Hebsgaard is fascinated by the objects’ physical characteristics as well as their ability to be used and converted.
