FRACTION INTER ACTION
A 12-hour Performance
FRIDAY FEBRUARY 7, 12:00-24:00

Galleri Christoffer Egelund is proud to present a unique 12-hour performance Fraction Inter Action in collaboration with the renowned Danish artist Lilibeth Cuenca Rasmussen and 11 art students from the Bergen Academy of Art and Design.

In the hands of the 12 artists, the performance art medium will be examined throughout 3 days, exploring the opportunities and limitations of the open, public spaces of Copenhagen. The group will – unannounced – perform happenings and initiate different interactions with the public room and the people in it. Developing and testing ideas, exploring practices and collecting fragments of the city, the artists will reorganize and revisit the starting point of the performance, Galleri Christoffer Egelund. At the starting point, the happening will culminate, and the collected fragments and experiences will be transferred into the performance.

Fraction Inter Action presents us with 12 separate 12-hour performances, exploring the field of the individual interacting with the collective. By sharing a space and at the same time creating their own, the artists will examine the possibilities of social interactions in different types of spaces. Which makes us wonder, how different is an open space in relation to a closed room? Will the audience behave differently depending on the setting? And will the transition from a public space to a private gallery affect the performance?

During the 12-hour performances at the gallery, you as the spectator are invited to come and go, visit and revisit the space of the gallery, witness the transformation and follow the artists’ endurance and dedication. The performance also invites the spectator to be a central part of the show, by exploring their spaces, their function, their potential, and their significance. It’s an invitation to step inside and react, and maybe you’re even willing to interact?
