Gallery Christoffer Egelund proudly presents in the gallery’s project room, the young emerging Danish artist Simon Ganshorn, with his first solo exhibition: Virus Is Also a Part of Who I Am Like Objects, Blood and Yogurt.
The wedding ring sits down in the obese ring finger, a mossy lion statue where the face is half-clipped, a sword from a roleplay found in the outskirts, a plastic chair and a broken glass table. Simon Ganshorn desire this material human experience. He transforms a fragmented reality into composite compositional works where known as well as unknown objects mixed with sexual desire and existential astonishment populate his practice and create more questions than answers. fragments of known material objects are reworded into new abstract forms, abstract forms are again translated into recognizable objects. Desire is the key word in his practice, Ganshorn accepts his role and melts with his work without the need for a puke bucket.
Is the subject and object separated, or is it one and the same thing. This is a frequent question Simon Ganshorn tries to portray in his practice. Other questions could be: Do the work raise questions that extend beyond form and content, if there is no one to make any perspective, or is the work in reality the viewer’s own projection?.
Ganshorn mirrors his objects and tries to visualize the transformation they are constantly undergoing. In several of the artist works, feels like they twitches and vibrate, they are on their way to taking new forms with strong forces and a different masculine energy.
Simon Ganshorn also touches Icons / Symbols and tries to convey them with ambiguity, link them with the objective organic rebus to titillate and challenge the observer.
Galleri Christoffer Egelund cordially invites to the opening of the exhibition Virus is also a part of who I am like objects, blood and yoghurt, which opens together with the main exhibition Twilight by German artist Daniel M. Thurau, Friday February the 2nd from 4pm to 7pm, where both artists will be present during the opening reception. The exhibition runs until March 10th 2018. Galleri Christoffer Egelund præsentere med stolthed i galleriets project rum, den unge lovende danske kunstner Simon Ganshorn, med hans første soloudstilling: Virus Is Also a Part of Who I Am Like Objects, Blood and Yoghurt.
